The ingredients in Lipo-Flavonoid® are safe. The exact combination of ingredients has been tested numerous times in clinical studies on patients and the results have demonstrated relief and improvement in patient condition.

Is Lipo-Flavonoid® a natural supplement?

Lipo-Flavonoid® is a nutritional supplement that contains the B complex group of vitamins in a base of lipotropic agents, such as choline, inositol and pantothenic acid, plus vitamin C and bioflavonoids. It is not a drug.

How does Lipo-Flavonoid® work?

Lipo-Flavonoid® provides nutritional support to improve circulation in the inner ear for overall ear health. When the circulation in the inner ear is improved, the microscopic hair cells responsible for transmitting electrical impulses of sound to the brain stay flexible, and fluids within the ear canals may flow better (it is thought that a primary cause of tinnitus is damage to or stiffening of these microscopic hair cells within the ear).  Visit Lipo-Flavonoid Product Facts for more information.

How can I ease the intensity of tinnitus?

While there is no known cure for tinnitus, there are ways to lessen the intensity by incorporating a few lifestyle and dietary changes such avoiding exposure to loud sounds and noises, control blood pressure, decrease salt intake, use the nutritional supplement Lipo-Flavonoid®, avoid nerve stimulants (caffeine & nicotine), cover up the noise, acupuncture, and avoid stress. All of these efforts combined may help. Visit Easing Intensity of Tinnitus for more information.

What is Meniere's syndrome?

Meniere’s syndrome is usually characterized by four symptoms:

  • Episodes of vertigo or dizziness
  • Fluctuating, progressive, low-frequency hearing loss
  • Tinnitus ("ringing" in the ears)
  • A sensation of fullness or pressure in the ear

Meniere’s syndrome should be diagnosed by a doctor.
Visit What is Meniere’s Syndrome? for more information.

How can I be sure I have Tinnitus?

There is no specific test, but an exam by your physician can rule out other serious conditions that could be causing this sensation. Request that your doctor give you special hearing tests: an electrocochleography test to record electrical activity in the inner ear, as well as vestibular (balance) tests. Also ask your doctor whether an MRI is necessary. These tests are important to determine if Meniere’s Syndrome is the cause. Be sure to tell your doctor about any new medications, herbal supplements or vitamins you are taking to rule out a drug reaction that could be causing this sensation.

What is tinnitus?

Tinnitus, which is one symptom of Meniere's Syndrome, is the perception of sound in the ears or head where no external source is present. It is a subjective "noise," since only the person who has the condition can actually hear it. An individual with tinnitus will often describe a sensation of sounds such as an ear ringing, even though tdhere is no external source present. Ear ringing is the most common perception of the sounds but the sound can vary, depending on the individual ranging from a whooshing and pulsing sensation, to a buzzing or chirping. The pitch of the various noises will also vary. Some individuals report extremely high pitches, while others report low pitches. It is not unusual to report both.

For some, the condition is temporary, while others experience these sensations 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  Visit What is Tinnitus? to learn more.

Can I take Lipo-Flavonoid while pregnant?

You should speak with your doctor before taking any medication, either over-the-counter or prescription while you are pregnant.

After I start taking Lipo-Flavonoid, when should I see an improvement in the intensity of my tinnitus?

Take 2 caplets three times a day, preferably after a meal. This is the dosage used in the clinical studies. Wait three to six months to see a noticeable improvement in your condition. Reduce intake to one caplet three times a day to maintain your improved condition.

Why did Lipo-Flavonoid® double the amount of lemon bioflavonoids in the formula?

Eriodicyyol Glycoside is contained in the lemon bioflavonoid complex, which has shown to block histamine production in the inner ear, a likely cause of inner ear disturbances. Several reports show that the lemon bioflavonoid complex combined with a mixture of B vitamins has a beneficial therapeutic or biologic effect on certain individual with sensori-neural hearing loss, usually associated with vertigo and other symptoms and signs of Meniere’s Disease.  Having twice as many lemon bioflavonoids is even more beneficial in reducing the intensity of tinnitus and other symptoms. Will Lipo-Flavonoid interact with other medications that I am currently taking?
